Two account books of Jacob Carter of Lunenburg and Boston, Mass., covering the years 1808-1858. The first volume contains accounts (1808-1825) of leather goods and harness making, wagons rented and repaired, stables, horses boarded, workmen hired and wages paid; the second volume contains accounts (1826-1827) of meats smoked and cured, and includes a number of pages pasted over with a variety of newsclippings (1858) from the Boston Journal and other local newspapers by a Mr. Edward Barry.
